HONOR View 20 vs Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7, it sounds strange but this post is all about to comparing two Chinese brand new smartphones which were recently launched. I mean this is funny but what the thing is dragged me to do this stupidity is none other than the mega highlight of the starting of this year is 48MP AI Camera. So we are going to comparing two matchless smartphones for this time and I am sure it’s not a good idea but sometimes stupidity creates lot of fun so let’s have some fun.
Before we start let me introduce that Honor and Redmi by Xiaomi both Chinese giants launched their brand new smartphones in the market. Honor launched Honor View 20 in China and in India after their global launch announcement as well. Honor is already starting to sale in India where Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 is yet off the mark in India. But tech followers shouting loud and asking which one to choose within Honor View 20 and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7.
Before the launching of their smartphone, both companies left no stone unturned to advertise. Where Xiaomi claimed Redmi Note 7 is a flagship smartphone in the budget price, at the same time Honor said that Honor View 20 is the world's first technology with ground breaking features.
Now let see which smartphone have more power and which has done only show off.
First of all, Honor View 20 comes with HiSilicon Kirin 980 Octa-core 2.6GHz CPU, HiSilicon is claiming Kirin 980 CPU is world’s first commercial mobile phone SoC chipset made with TSMC's 7 nm process technology and integrating 6.9 billion transistors. The CPU based on ARM Cortex A76 and Mali- G76 GPU which supports LPDDR4X RAM at the rate of up to 2133MHz, specifically CPU has 2+2+4 flex-scheduling mechanism where cores are 2xA76 2.6GHz+ 2xA76 1.92GHz + 4xA55 1.8GHz. The Kirin 980 is the fastest, highest performing, most energy efficient, and most intelligent chipset on the market. These outstanding features allow the chipset to provide more powerful, rich, and smart experiences to mobile users. Now looking at Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7, it comes with Qualcomm’s 600 series CPU which is Snapdragon 660. Although Snapdragon is a vital choice and designed to support AI, advance photography; enhance gaming and long battery life but not enough to be compared with HiSilicon Kirin 980. After all this Snapdragon 660 supports up to 25Megapixel image capture at zero shutter lag and Adreno 512 GPU with 30% improved performance as Qualcomm says. Apart of this Honor View 20 has Turbo 2.0 GPU additionally for advance gaming experience.
Talking about RAM and internal storage, there is size difference so the performance is. Honor View 20 comes with 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage only, therefore comparison is quite pointless. Coming to the Operating system, both the device has an Android Mobile OS version 9 a.k.a. Android Pie. As far as Battery backup and Charging are concerned then both device comes with 4000mAh Non removable Li-ion battery and Honor View 20 supports fast charging and boxed with terrifying 4.5volts/5000mA USB Type-C pin SuperCharger but here I interrupting you with an apology, the charge is replaced with 9volts/2500mA in Indian version, where Redmi Note 7 supports Quick Charge 4 and there is nothing special with charger instead it also comes with USB Type-C pin Charger. It’s really funny to compare each other.
In the context of other features the Redmi Note 7 does not create too much hype as it has only usual features in terms of network, connectivity, design and multimedia, comparing to Honor view 20. But the price matters and that’s why Xiaomi aims 10 lakh units available in the first two or three flash sales of Redmi Note 7.

Coming to second most top highlight of these smartphones and that is Display. Honor View 20 is introduced with the all new all-view 6.4 inch Full HD display which makes it unique in its class till date. Amazingly it has notchless narrow-bezel design which generates an extremely high up to 91% screen-to-body ratio, well I have to say once again ‘unique in its class’. Comparatively Redmi Note 7 has got 6.3 inches dew drop notch display which is usually trending these days. It has Corning Fifth Generation Gorilla Glass but not enough strong to break the Walnuts which was shown by Xiaomi in the Ads.

Now the most highlighted feature in any smartphone ever comes in the center and that is 48Megapixel camera. Honor View 20 comes with Sony IMX586 AI HDR 48Megapixel primary sensor at Rear panel, it has ToF camera technology consist of an image sensor, image processing chip and modulated light source, can capture the trure 3D images. While Redmi Note 7 has also 48Megapixel primary sensor but it can capture images in only Pro mode which is a feature given in line of different modes and the quality is not as sufficient as it is rumored. Anyway talking about the selfies camera then this segment is also disappointing in Redmi Note 7 it has only 5Megapixel front facing camera while Honor View 20 has got 25 Megapixel punch hole camera on the front.
Talking about the price, Honor View 20 price is Rs. 37,990/- in India while Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 is expected to be launched at around Rs. 17,700/- for its top variant. Both devices have their own specs but huge differences with each other and so the prices are. Eventually it is not fare to compare HONOR View 20 and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 but just as Xiaomi beaten the drum for 48Megapixel camera and called Redme Note 7 likewise of a Flagship. I would say it is an empty vassal that sounds much. For Honor View 20, it looks like ground breaking smartphone which might set a new trend for couple of coming years and if you have placed the order for Honor View 20 by the way then trust me you have got a blessing in disguise.
